ORIX METRO and PHILGUARANTEE Expand Partnership to Boost Small Business Loans in the Philippines

ORIX METRO Leasing and Finance Corporation (ORIX METRO), a leader in the Philippine leasing and finance sector, has officially deepened its partnership with the Philippine Guarantee Corporation (PHILGUARANTEE) to extend more accessible financial solutions to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the country. This new alliance aims to provide enhanced loan products to support the growth and development of MSMEs.

The partnership leverages PHILGUARANTEE’s sovereign rating and guarantees with zero-risk weight features, enabling ORIX METRO to offer more favorable loan terms to MSMEs. This collaboration is designed to assist businesses in sectors critical to national growth, such as energy, transportation, and agriculture.

As of October 31, 2024, PHILGUARANTEE has successfully supported over 45,000 MSMEs with a total of P8.14 billion in gross loans. Through this partnership, ORIX METRO will be able to tap into PHILGUARANTEE’s growing network and extend its lending capabilities to a wider range of MSMEs.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) reports that there are more than 1.2 million MSMEs in the Philippines, representing over 99% of the country's total businesses. These enterprises play a crucial role in economic development, and this expanded partnership is set to enhance their access to vital financial support.
