2019 Branch Heads Convention: Strong. Resilient. Against All Odds.

“Fight! Fight! Fight!”

This was the mantra that echoed throughout the ballroom of Hilton Manila as “ORIX METRO warriors” - Branch, Cluster, Area and Region Heads - accepted the challenge that President Teting Tan posed during the 2019 Branch Heads Convention held from March 15-16.

The mission of ORIX METRO warriors was communicated clearly – keep fighting no matter what the odds are as the Company faces adversities that might affect its bottom line by the end of fiscal year 2019.

ORIX METRO Chairman Bliz Cuna reminded the participants about ORIX METRO’s DNA which centres on integrity, passion, love for work and service, innovation and unity. He encouraged everyone to draw strength from their passion to face challenges head-on.

Day 1 kicked off with SVP/Branches Group Head Jun Bacabac reminding everyone to bring their A game to help the Company tackle the budget deficit. Dr. Alvin Ang of Ateneo de Manila University presented the latest economic analyses, while Yayu Javier, a customer relationship management specialist, gave tips on how to enhance customer experience in the financial service industry.

The delegates had an exciting and inspiring Day 2 with Coach Chot Reyes, eight-time PBA champion coach and former GILAS Pilipinas head coach. Coach Chot shared his insights on how to go “against all odds” based on his own experience when he actually did a “tambak to comeback”. With the aid of a video showing the momentous victory of Gilas Pilipinas over South Korea that earned the Philippines a spot at the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship Finals, Coach Chot highlighted how teamwork and a dose of passion and motivation can overcome just about any obstacle that ORIX METRO is currently faced with.

Ding Bantayan, Adviser to the Board, rallied the participants to be more focused and industrious by concentrating on action plans that will give immediate results and help the Company recover. He expressed confidence that with the help of management and everyone’s strength and resilience, the participants will be able to carry on and win the game.

At the end of the two-day convention, the participants emerged feeling more inspired, motivated and eager to fight, fight, fight until the end – the way ORIX METRO warriors can!
