ORIX Foundation and Metrobank Foundation Formalize Partnership for Classroom Rehabilitation

ORIX Foundation, Inc. (ORIX) signed a memorandum of understanding with Metrobank Foundation, Inc. (MBFI) last April 17, 2014 in Tokyo, Japan for the construction of 1 storey, 4 classroom building (includes toilet and furniture) in Palo, Leyte—one of the areas hit by super typhoon Yolanda. ORIX Corporation, as part of their 50th anniversary celebration, has donated a total amount of ten (10) million Japanese Yen (¥10,000,000.00; approximately equivalent to 4.3 million pesos) which will form part of the Metrobank Group Yolanda Rehabilitation Fund.
 
The signing was led by Metrobank Group Chairman Dr. George S.K. Ty (seated, 3rd from left) and ORIX Corporation Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Yoshihiko Miyauchi (seated, 4th from left) with the presence of key senior officers of both parties—(L-R, seated) Federal Land, Inc. The Metrobank Group is currently working on its programs to assist in the on-going rehabilitation efforts of the government, private, and international agencies in typhoon Yolanda stricken areas ranging from education, livelihood, and health interventions.
